Early Spring Prunning
Now is as good of time as any to do some prunning on shrubs and trees. Dormant prunning is much less stressful on plants than prunning during season.

Annuals
This is a great time to plant your bedding plants so that they can be enjoyed for the rest of the summer. Make sure to keep an eye out for aphids on your shrubs as they are out in full force right now.

Shrub protection
This is the time of year to prepare your shrubs for the harsh winter ahead. Most shrubs can deal with the winter weather on their own but some require special consideraion. Shrubs near walkways, under eaves or anywhere that will have excess snow will need to be tied or sheltered from the elements so they do not bare the brunt of extra snow weight. Evergreens in windy areas should also be covered to block the wind. This will help keep them green.

Lower cutting height.
This time of year we normally mow our lawns shorter which helps allow leaves to blow off easier and it also deters diseases and mold over the winter months.
